The first Fall Break that found both girls in college was 2017. We decided to steal away to the mountains for the break. This lead to a new tradition we have carried on through the rest of their years in college together. Looking back, that first break was one of the best family trips we’ve taken.
A delightful surprise, Brevard, NC checks all the boxes for a perfect fall weekend getaway. Situated in Transylvania County, NC, Brevard really plays up that advantage in fall. Spooky decorations, beautiful landscapes, quirky shops full of great Halloween costume ideas, a chocolatier, and some great restaurants, including a wine bar all surrounded by mountain vistas made this the perfect destination — it’s no wonder repeating Fall Break became a must for our family after this trip. Home of the white squirrels, Brevard ranks as one of our favorite small mountain towns — and we have visited many!
